Linden Grove Personal Hours
“Personal hours with my mentor are where the gospel goes deep into my leadership soul” (an LGM mentee).
That’s why personal hours are central to the Linden Grove mentorship model. During these monthly one-on-one meetings, LGM mentors coach, train, and shepherd individual mentees, helping them address challenges, worries, confusion, and doubts so that they can be more effective in their personal life and pastoral leadership. Personal hours complement the group teaching and interaction that occur during the monthly cohort meetings. Our mentors also seek to be available in real-time to support and advise mentees when an urgent crisis hits.
While you watch this short video, imagine how beneficial it would have been for Pastor Myles to have had a mentor that he could have called either Thursday evening or Friday morning. (Transcript below.)

“Pastor Myles sat alone in his office. 12:43 Friday morning. Sermon preparation morning. And there he was: angry, disillusioned, hurt. The elders meeting had not gone well. Things had been said. Tensions had flared. The Board was split.
“Why didn’t seminary teach me how to handle this,” he cried.
Myles needs a mentor. As he later realized, Myles needed a mentor when he was at seminary. He needed a mentor when he was deciding if he should become pastor of this church.
God has called Linden Grove Ministries to this very purpose. We are building a community of godly mentors who will come alongside church leaders like Myles and listen to them, champion them, coach, train and shepherd them.”
